This is a Minion Guide, u wont get tips to ur Summoner Build (so far) so every Summoner can take a look and post a Information because this guide is NOT a "build" its more collected information for lazieness :)
Support Gems vary very much from the creature you Spectre .You should have at least alot of Different support gems. like minion dmg and !!! every support gem you think fit the situation!!! Keep them in ur invent if something dies at Maps and u need to Respec. I ll exclude Rarity and Quantity support gems. ITEM SECTION in post nr2 lack of space :)

2. I cant target my Spectre I have Sometimes 2 same and 1 other spectre
How can i target a corpse ? with they key "A"
Press A and hover over the mob u want to spectre. if there is a big group first corpse target other mobs and make zombies and then if u have the right use spectre

3. My Spectre keeps dying all the time. I loose my spectre all the time.
Try Life Leech is one of the best Spectre support gems in my opinion
thx to budget player cadet who suggested the gem

4. Necro Aegis ?
passive skill tree point which gives all shield bonus to the spectre
recomended 24+ all resi shield , springleaf unique , the unique one i think?
some summoner use this.
in HC u sometimes need the shield buff / resi / armor / max life.
u can recast a zombie , but u cant resurect urself back into HC :)

5.My Minions dont attack enemys at the screenedge. My Minions only attack 1 time and run back to me(AFK MINIONS)
your Zombie / Spectre wait for ur action. If u do a "channel" action like firestorm they only run forward to hit 1 time and come back. Activate ur minions with active spells which need to be recast the whole time. Arc, Ice Spear , Fireball ,Ranged/Meelee Attack, Curses will all activate ur minions.

6.Can i spectre a BOSS mob /Champion? Is it usefull?
Yes u can spectre a bossmob and it will gain the lvl bonus +2lvl for bosses
so its very good to find a boss spectre or champion to spectre. But it will loose all additives it had before (life regen , haste aura , dmg reflect , multiple projectiles)


-7.Remote Mine?
Buffs the Dmg of "Spell/caster" spectres , or nearly every spectre
but NOT DOTS!!!! so far. means no use at Burning Miscreation , Undying Alchemist , Chaos Bear


8.ITEM SWAP ? Forum Question
If I raise a minion with Midnight Bargain and then swap weapons, does the minion retain +minion damage and speed from Midnight Bargain?
Yes it will Remain , Same for Every Unique Minion Item.


9.I Have troubles to LVL as True Summoner to lvl 40.
There are 2 Ways
NO ITEM REQUIRED FOR THIS
First and i think the faster way is Freezing Pulse/Fireball Kombo until lvl 25 than u can start to spectre the Big Fire Bugs at "sarn slums" act 3 with the Projectile from ur Fireball / FP (lvld the third summoner in no time)

Second Way
I read somth about Life Gain on Hit on the Zombies. Merevil can drop +1 Minion helmet with 3 socket. Helps alot. Its not easy i did it with my second HC summoner and was slow. (y i had a 3 link +1 minion helm lvl 15 or so.)


10.MINION INSTABILITY
Shall i take Minion Instability ?
There is a split opinion in the forum. With the right item u can boost zombies to around 22k HP. with the right support gem u can boost the explosion as well. Helps ALOT at boss fights.
It depends on ur playstyle how lazy u are to recast stuff.


11.I have Troubles with Maps. Loosing Spectres all the Time.
See "MAP SECTION" below

12.There are so much Curses which one do i Use?
Depends on Playstyle and Spectre but Vuln helps the zombies and the dogs / BM . Elemental Weakness helps every elemental spectre. Fire Curse - Good for Flame sentinels for the ingition. Enfeeble will keep them alive :)

13.Do your passives increase the dmg of your spectres (Burning dmg/ Spell dmg) ????
. Only minion life passive node and minion dmg (and specific minion nodes) nodes effect the spectre /zombies. All other (Burning dmg / fire dmg / spell dmg / physical dmg) will NOT effect any minion.


14.does your gear have any affect on your spectres (e.g. searing touch-burning dmg ) or redbeak 100% dmg on low life ???

Yes, only items that increase minion life (chober, sidebreath). Use them when you raise your spectres as its a snapshot. Even if you remove your weapon or you ramu after, the life bonus will still exist.
And if the unique himself had "has added XX support gem"
for example thunderfists "gems in this item has added lighting dmg lvl 18"
so it will be added to. overview of these items below

15.does the dmg of multiple "aura dot dmg" stack? (3 burning miscreation will not , 3 chaos bear will not)
No ,
but 1 Burning Miscreation , 1 Chaos Bear will "stack" because its a different AURA DOT DMG!

16.how do they work with ele equilibrium? is it possible to make a use of it?
It works fine and i find that it's a must have. Use it every time you need a boost in damage. Simply cast a cold or lightning spell on a boss or on a rare mob; at this very moment, EE is up and the burning damage is increased. Cold snap or shock nova are just fine. What is important to understand is that its not because the mob is within the BM's fire aura that EE is up and the mob gains +25% fire resistance. No. The only person that can trigger EE is you and not your minion. Its one of your cold or lightning spell that will trigger EE.

17. Snapshot
Cast a Spectre with some Unique item Bonus (incr minion dmg) and swap the item afterwards the bonus will still stay at the spectre. Same for Support Gems.

18. Do Minions use my IIR / IIQ from my items? AND OR my gems?

Yes, they do use your IIR/IIQ, and, if applicable, linked IIR/IIQ gems. See here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/42535/highlight/
IIR/IIQ on your character does apply to minion kills. Their kills counts as yours hence u get flask charges. Try running with a dedicated group. The increased quantity will let u see a lot more drops.

Kills via damage over time (e.g. the burning degen aura of burned miscreations) do not benefit from IIR/IIQ gems, though that issue is not limited to minions.

They get Decent amount of HP with a +2 Helm as Support since Minion Health also gets +2

Dmg zombies from "kripp" was rumoured and praised in the Forums. **
They make fine Burning Damage with their hits and their MI . the increased burning damage gem if u dont have a elemental prof gem you could also use any other bonus fire quests gems.

Suggested again from Matt - Multi Strike with Added chaos damage u have at least 10 Skelis very fast and if they hit 3 times - calculate urself :)
This results in quite a huge single target dps increase, enough dps to single handily run maps with just a skeleton totem.

Nice new spectres. They have a lil "superman" aura , everthing inside stays pretty much unharmed . They rly cast very fast (like flame sentis).

*note* I think with 1.0 they took away a little Cast speed of the flame sentinels

Since they make physical dmg , we take "ethernal knives" as spell we want to push. So added Fire dmg/ remote mind / minion dmg will push their dmg. Faster Cast , Concentrated Effect.

MAYBE - and its a big maybe - added chaos dmg for a wierd dmg output.

They cast Augemented Fireballs already with LMP/Fork - Depends how much enemys are in range. They have a decent DMG output and cast rly fast. My Personal Favourite since they survive a pretty long time. As long as no Chaos is near. recomended from alot of people around the forum. with very varius support gems. The showing support Gems is for Maximum Dmg output im always open for suggestions , the HP was calculated with a regen totem so its not accurate but its more numbers than "poof" and he is dead :) they have energy shield as well but i dont know how much. with life leech u can take them to the next difficulty stage normal to cruel - cruel to merciless - merciless to maps .
at Maps life leech is essential .
some information they are floating but will die with "ground fire" when cast from cinder elementals check the video below .
and they are big for indoor maps -> didnt checked it further which will fit better for maps input appreciatet
Checkked again faster cast has not so much effect on them . since all are happy with burning zombies and they do already have burning

Fire Aura Activation : If they are blocked and have enemys on Screen they will start burning. If u cast a Passive Skill they are "more likeley" to start burn. I had VERY good xp with Rejen Totem. Just cast it ALLL the time if the first mob group comes. instead of a curse and or atk. im 100% sure at least 1 is burning afterwards. Update 28.8 Also Immortal Call , Endurance Cry and !!! OUT OF SIGHT!!! helps. they dont need to be out of sight. just hide behind a tree / corner and shoot 1-3 times on the ground (arc/fireball)

Curse : Vuln is the prefered curse if u only use 1 , it helps the life leech , and the aura gem.So its the best Def/off curse cuz it benefits the zombies as well.

Since they are tested atm, and frequently mentioned we need to boost their Surv and Dmg.
Good way so far is add lighting dmg "shock stacks = +40% dmg" which can be achieved very easy with Blackguard Mages, they cast ARC. A Reccomended Forum Setup atm is 1 BM with 1 LMage
Use Conductivity to get more Shocks from the LMages. Also Vuln helps their burning dmg and alot of info which is mentioned in the "infos" above.
OLDINFO but still RIGHT info !
They cast unrighteous fire which is different then righteous fire. They do not
deal damage to them selves and it seems to deal a percentage based damage.
With elemental weakness things die VERY fast and another flammability curse
means things die almost instantly. These guys are my NUMERO UNO.
Their damaging aura can go through walls.

Increased BM Dmg with 2 casts (1 second)
+133% to 213% increased dmg in HC , i mention the HC cuz surviving is more important than clear speed. and with luck 2 casts and 213% more Dmg.

Very Fragile titty bitches , they have decent dmg output and under construction atm

These guys are quite fragile and will need constant potting from you. Their projectiles pierce and hit about 2-3 screens away. GMP'ed one will give great aoe coverage. Kinda looks like an AA-Battery lmao.

they are at a early stage of reasearch so more info will come soon

6. Fire Penetration (if you're not EE/Flammability ready)/Minion Life/Increased Area of Effect/Concentrated Effect (Any of the above are decent; I'd opt for minion life personally, as I'm specced to subtract over 140 fire res from the nastier mobs and these guys do a LOT of damage)

Stats
Time to get: 5-8 mins. Get them from Marketplace; Marketplace doesn't have those stupid snakes on them (and has a higher level). They aren't exactly swarming, but shouldn't be hard to find or kill.
Attack/spell: Big ass fireballs from a very impressive range Ranged/Projectile/Attack
Behaviour : Slow, will attack from almost any range (seriously, these things have HUGE range) and commonly not move until enemy is dead.
Survivability: Best in the game/tied with Flame Sentinels. These things have a massive amount of life. Slap them with life leech and put up Vitality and you might end up losing them to chaos snakes and ridiculously hard-hitting unique bosses; that's pretty much it.
Attack/Cast Speed : Medium-Fast
Damage Output: High. Not as good as incinerators or chaos voidbearers, but still good enough to clear rooms with scary speed.
Curses:
Support Auras : vitality

Description / Info / Personal Feeling
Big bessies are not optimal for tight map crawls like Crypt or Dungeon. What they are optimal for is pretty much everything else. Their damage is off the charts, they live forever with a life leech gem, and their fat abdomen will draw a lot of fire (although you still want to put your more expendable minions in front of them whenever possible).

Support: Vitality Aura (1% of whatever obscene amount they have is a lot of health to get back per second), Flammability, Elemental Weakness, Elemental Equilibrium Lightning/Cold damage.

Attack/Spell : It has 2 attacks. Projectile itself deals damage, and it spreads AoE DoT on hit. We, however, are focused on DoT damage, as it seems to be way superior.
Behaviour : Pretty much like Flame Sentinels. Moreover, you can let them throw their bombs and then just run away, letting DoT do its job.
Survivability: Between Zombies and Skeletons
Attack/Cast Speed : Medium
Damage Output: Well, since you mostly rely on DoT, it hard to compare them to other mobs. They definetely arent as fast as Fire Sentinels / TittyBitches. Still, i had no problem clearing 67-68 maps with them.
Support Auras : vitality

This is my absolutely top choice for interiors. They clear them fast, easy, with no clumping behind the walls, and they are more sustainable then burned miscreations. If you can get those off some map - grab them and go clear catacombs.

the boss is a nasty lighting spider. Sentis will only survive because they are in the 2nd row. Everything in the first row will get toasted


Tropical Island 66

Use +Minion Items(health,dmg,speed) BEFORE U CAST the spectre and take it OFF when the spectre is raised.
The bonus will stay on the spectre!!!!!

Looks good. You could mine the other posts - Lord of the Dead etc - for more spectre info.
I disagree with a couple of things here.

First and foremost, this really shouldn't be controversial, the must-have specs for voidbearers do not include minion damage; rather your priority should be

1. GMP
2. Added Chaos
3. Minion Damage/Faster Projectiles

Minion damage is awesome, but GMP is absolutely mandatory for good AOE damage output, and a high-level Added Chaos Damage makes their power skyrocket in a completely unreasonable manner. I basically watched Prison Incarcerator melt in a matter of 3 seconds. I was at level 62 at the time. Shit was hilarious. Beyond that, I really like Faster Projectiles - the quality version is awesome, and it turns the flamethrower into a giant monstrosity of an AOE attack.

Second, you really understimate the value of a Life Leech gem. Especially in maps, or longer dungeons without stellar mobs (like, say, Merciless Chamber of Sins - there is nothing worth having in there, it takes forever, and the refresh time is so short that you don't want to be leaving to get more spectres in Cruel A3), you don't want to lose spectres, and survivability has to be a factor. Life Leech won't make Tittybitches or Voidbearers that much less fragile, but it will ensure that glancing blows won't add up without leaving you waiting around for Vitality to do its job.

Speaking of survivability... You really overestimate the utility of tittybitches, incinerators, and burned miscreations - the former two are incredibly fragile, and the burneds are melee mobs and thus not liable to last very long due to their dumb AI - once the mobs stop melting, they start dying. Meanwhile, you underestimate what may be the best mob in the game - the Carrion Queen. Slow? Yeah. Clunky in small spaces? Never, EVER run a Spider's Nest map with these things. However, the live forever. They have the highest base life of almost any mob, do stupid damage with GMP, and vitality+life leech means they can facetank forever. If you plan on running a fairly open map like Strand or Dried Lake, they are without a doubt the best mobs to have if you don't wanna go running back for more, and they murder everything.

It's worth noting that regen totem is extremely useful. Obviously place it when running between groups of mobs and if you're fighting when it skele totem isn't needed.

The best 2 specters to get are flame sentinel and carrion queen, imo, for 3 reasons....easy to get, high dps and decent survivability. I personally prefer the sentinels because they are faster and seem to position much better.

Since they are tested atm, and frequently mentioned we need to boost their Surv and Dmg.
Good way so far is add lighting dmg "shock stacks = +40% dmg" which can be achieved very easy with Blackguard Mages, they cast ARC. A Reccomended Forum Setup atm is 1 BM with 1 LMage
Use Conductivity to get more Shocks from the LMages. Also Vuln helps their burning dmg and alot of info which is mentioned in the "infos" above.


OLDINFO but still RIGHT info !!!!!!!
They cast unrighteous fire which is different then righteous fire. They do not
deal damage to them selves and it seems to deal a percentage based damage.
With elemental weakness things die VERY fast and another flammability curse
means things die almost instantly. These guys are my NUMERO UNO.
Their damaging aura can go through walls.

I guess, but in most cases there are simply really optimized combinations that you should go for in pretty much every case - at least for the first 2-3 gems. With the voidbearers, the order is clear: Raise Specter -> GMP/LMP -> Added Chaos -> other stuff. It's not usually quite this clear-cut, but sometimes it is.

Honestly, I'd say that as a summoner, a 5L Chest should take precedence over pretty much any other piece of gear, save perhaps for the Bones. It's the difference between a build that's solid and a build that can carry a whole party through high-level maps.

Good idea. Here's mine, in the format above:


Carrion Queen [Framerate drop factor: Medium]
1. Raise Spectre
2. GMP
3. Life Leech
4. Minion Damage
5. Faster Attacks/Faster Projectiles (Pick one; I really like quality projectiles myself; the range is ridiculous)
6. Fire Penetration (if you're not EE/Flammability ready)/Minion Life/Increased Area of Effect/Concentrated Effect (Any of the above are decent; I'd opt for minion life personally, as I'm specced to subtract over 140 fire res from the nastier mobs and these guys do a LOT of damage)

Time to get: 5-8 mins. Get them from Merc Marketplace; Marketplace doesn't have those stupid, stupid, stupid snakes on them (and has a higher level). They aren't exactly swarming, but shouldn't be hard to find or kill.
Attack/spell: Big ass fireballs from a very impressive range
Behaviour : Slow, will attack from almost any range (seriously, these things have HUGE range) and commonly not move until enemy is dead.
Survivability: Best in the game/tied with Flame Sentinels. These things have a massive amount of life. Slap them with life leech and put up Vitality and you might end up losing them to chaos snakes and ridiculously hard-hitting unique bosses; that's pretty much it.
Attack/Cast Speed : Medium-Fast
Damage Output: High. Not as good as incinerators or chaos voidbearers, but still good enough to clear rooms with scary speed.

Big bessies are not optimal for tight map crawls like Crypt or Dungeon. What they are optimal for is pretty much everything else. Their damage is off the charts, they live forever with a life leech gem, and their fat abdomen will draw a lot of fire (although you still want to put your more expendable minions in front of them whenever possible).

Support: Vitality Aura (1% of whatever obscene amount they have is a lot of health to get back per second), Flammability, Elemental Weakness, Elemental Equilibrium Lightning/Cold damage.

thx for ur input , tested them on a map they make decent dmg. so i confirm this , nice description , but i wouldnt give it to my child to read :)

as i mentioned its for every player state . please dont think always in merciless could be frighten new players .


for the maps part . i have the feeling at the end/unique boss (i wrote it down but didnt do alot maps yet) there are always the same creatures . or sometimes usefull creatures

so far i got

dunes map - merivil chosen 2 times made my map 2 times merivil chosen always at the end , and necros.

dried lake 3 times - always new mobs

I'm not convinced that this is the case. I know that some mobs will always spawn on some maps (You'll always get statues on Arcade and some form of water elemental on Reef) but beyond that I have seen very limited repeatable results.

I rly like the guide, plenty of useful information here.

I disagree about your chaos thrower description. Heres how i would do it.


Udying Alchemist (chaos thrower) [Framerate drop factor: medium ]
1. Raise Spectre
2. Minion Life
3. GMP
4. Culling Strike
5. Faster Attacks
6. Increased AOE/Faster Projectiles/Item Rarity/Item Quantity


More detailed support gem info:
First of all, Minion Damage doesnt affect DoT damage (and projectiles dont seem to do much dmg on their own), so we dont include it.
GMP dmg penalty affects only projectile, so you dont have to worry about lower dps.
Culling Strike and Faster Attacks dont rly need explanation
I dont have any good idea for sixth gem. You could add any of those, but you dont rly need them.

Time to get 2-6 mins - Sewers Aqueduct (easy acces both from Barracks WP and Warehouses aqueduct WP)
Attack/Spell : It has 2 attacks. Projectile itself deals damage, and it spreads AoE DoT on hit. We, however, are focused on DoT damage, as it seems to be way superior.
Behaviour : Pretty much like Flame Sentinels. Moreover, you can let them throw their bombs and then just run away, letting DoT do its job.
Survivability: Have no idea about their hp, but they seem be quite sustainable
Attack/Cast Speed : Medium
Damage Output: Well, since you mostly rely on DoT, it hard to compare them to other mobs. They definetely arent as fast as Fire Sentinels / TittyBitches. Still, i had no problem clearing 67-68 maps with them.

Description / Info / Personal Feeling
This is my absolutely top choice for interiors. They clear them fast, easy, with no clumping behind the walls, and they are more sustainable then burned miscreations. If you can get those off some map - grab them and go clear catacombs.
